Accessibility

Good design should make the work easier to explore, understand, and use for everyone.

01

My commitment

I want Chris Designs Things to be accessible to as many people as possible. Accessibility informs the structure, content, interaction, and visual design of this site, and I treat it as ongoing work rather than a one-time checklist.

02

Standards and approach

I use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as a design and testing target, alongside applicable Ontario accessibility requirements. This statement explains the standard I work toward and how to report a barrier.

03

What I focus on

The site is designed around clear headings and reading order, descriptive links, text alternatives for meaningful images, readable contrast, visible keyboard focus, responsive layouts, and controls that can be used without a mouse. Motion should respect reduced-motion preferences.

04

Feedback and alternative access

If something is difficult to use, please contact me through the email link in the footer. It helps to include the page, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you used, if you are comfortable sharing that. I will review the barrier and work with you on another way to access the content.

05

Ongoing improvements

I review accessibility as content and features change. Third-party destinations and embedded content may follow different accessibility practices. When I learn about an issue on this site, I will prioritize a practical fix and update this statement as needed.
